The New Moon, 16th April 2018

New Moon

An Astrological forecast for this New Moon period and the fortnight ahead.

Tomorrow, the New Moon is in Aries at 26°, which is the same degree of the New Moon that was in Pisces on the 17th March earlier this year. This means that those of you born with your Sun, another personal planet (Mercury, Venus, Mars or Moon) or an important angle (Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant or Imum Coeli) between 22° and 30° of Cancer or Sagittarius, are quite likely to be experiencing something worthy of more than day-to-day conversation during both of these New Moon cycles. So, if you were born between the 14th and the 22nd of either July or December, this means you, especially. Please feel free to comment or email your experiences.
But what is just beginning that is new for many people next week? Well, with the New Moon in Aries, who’s ruler is now in cardinal sign Capricorn, many of us may be feeling quite restless and, with the New Moon’s close conjunction with Uranus, also in Aries, possibly even somewhat upbeat. Not only can Uranus bring a myriad of upbeat energies to the table, but he can also sometimes bring unexpected events straight to your door, that are either unexpected in an exciting or shocking way.

Then there is this stellium (or some might say superconjunction) in Capricorn, consisting of Saturn, Mars and Pluto, that more or less asserts itself through strength, patience, sobriety and structure. These are at odds energy-wise with the aforementioned planets in Aries, so there may be some stress between them involved. Stress, in the form of a bunch of square aspects between stelliums of planets such as these, may manifest as a sense of building tension that is going to have to at some point be released. We’re calm, but we’re also very aware that the pot is bubbling and that something exciting might be about to happen, although we are not always entirely sure what that something exciting (or shocking) is going to be.

There is also the sweet opposition between Venus in her domicile and Jupiter in Scorpio to consider, so a balance between love, harmony and aesthetic pleasures and that enthusiasm and adventurousness into business and monetary matters will need to be had. Thankfully, we have shrewd Pluto in Capricorn forming a tight sextile to Jupiter and a lovely trine to Venus in Taurus helping smooth things over. Actually, we have quite a few financial significators at play here during the New Moon this week, all within the same positive configuration. We have Venus, who loves dealing with all the pleasures in life that money can buy and Taurus, the sign that naturally rules the house of monetary self worth and material gain. We then have Jupiter, ruling giveaways and good fortune and both Scorpio and Pluto, which cover banks, inheritances, loans and other people’s money. Capricorn, then, is a sign of all things real and substantial, such as property! Then we have an extra boost on the 17th April as the Moon moves on from her conjunction with the Sun and passes over Venus, forming some more lovely trines to feed into the configuration. I will also add that the best time to start many types of new projects or hold important events is in the days following a New Moon, when the Moon is waxing and isn’t too close to the Sun. Perhaps some of us will be very fortunate over the coming two weeks as the easy-going and positive aspects that connect these planets continue to play out into our lives.

There is some more good news. By the time of this coming New Moon, the end of the Mercury Retrograde period will have just come, as Mercury will have stationed direct over the previous few days. This marks a very welcome end to the period of frustrations and hiccups regarding communications, electronics, short distance travel and all things administrative. Yay!

If you would like to see a chart for the Full Moon this weekend, there is one at the bottom of this page. Please note that this is the chart for London. The chart for the Full Moon anywhere else in the world is very likely to have an Ascendant, Midheaven, Descendant and IC that that are all positioned differently to this one. The planets will all be in the same position though (meaning sign and degrees).

If you would like your own personal interpretation of what the next 6/ 12 months holds for you (that is of course much more in-depth and personal to you), please feel free to contact me here or on my Facebook page to book an appointment.

Blessings to all and I hope you enjoy the few weeks ahead.

Gemma.
