You’re invited to join me for a cup of tea and a discussion on what’s happening in February from an astrological standpoint.
I’ll begin with a short introduction and then I’ll delve right into the New Moon on Tuesday the 1st, followed by a list of transits in date order and the general themes that will likely transpire throughout the whole of the month.
Cost is free, although I welcome and encourage contributions/ donations with a warm smile 🙂 Please contribute to www.paypal.me/vineastrology

There’s a Full Moon in Aquarius this Sunday, 22nd August, at 1:00 in the afternoon in the UK.Continue reading
Our next New Moon will be in Aquarius this Thursday, 11th February, at 19:05 here in the UK.
The New Moon on Thursday will be in Aquarius at 23°, marking the start of a fresh journey for all of us this month, with reference to similar energetic themes of a much larger journey that was kickstarted by the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on the 21st December last year. Important Aquarius configurations and lunations send out ripples of energy, calling us to become more aware of our surroundings and each other. Aquarius is a conscious sign, ruled by the transpersonal planet Uranus, that can act as something of a truth serum both personally and in the collective conscious and this can really help as a glue within society, that binds us together with common goals towards global insight and positive change.
Joining the New Moon in Aquarius are the Mercury retrograde, Saturn in domicile and a partile conjunction between Venus and Jupiter at 12°. Venus and Jupiter so close together like this will bring a huge dose of positive enhancement to the whole effect of the sign of Aquarius, which I think is in some ways helping to mitigate some of the problems usually associated with the Mercury retrograde, especially as Mercury is so supported in the sign of Aquarius already.Continue reading
There’s a New Moon Total Eclipse in Sagittarius tomorrow, 14th December, at 16:17 in the UK.
The New Moon tomorrow will be in Sagittarius at 23°, conjoining Mercury on the Moon’s South Node (also both in Sagittarius) whilst trining Mars in Aries. So there’s some fire energy here! Yes, even though Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius is still in Capricorn, flanked closely by both Saturn and Pluto, we do have some fire working-out within these trines of the New Moon. I feel that Jupiter’s position in late Capricorn in-between these two heavy planets is perfectly symbolic of the position we find ourselves in at the moment, as a nation (and globally). We are nearing the end of one of the heaviest, most transformational years we have had for a long time in which many of our freedoms have been thwarted, much like some of Jupiter’s free and fiery energy may be thwarted during the time he finds himself sandwiched amidst this configuration of planets. Jupiter here represents us and our personal freedom to explore the world and our surroundings and our sense of an ending to this adversity can be represented by Jupiter’s onward movement out of Capricorn and into an air sign; Jupiter will be strengthened via triplicity ruler in Aquarius here.
Therefore, as the ruler of our New Moon Total Solar Eclipse is in a somewhat frustrated position, looking forward to an end to all this, which will no doubt be marked by a series of perfectly-timed conjunctions with Saturn in Aquarius, we have a good dose of fire energy to feed our restlessness and creative endeavours as we lie in wait for the world to get back to ‘normal’. That fire energy is in the shape of a New Moon with a detriment Mercury.Continue reading
There’s a New Moon in Taurus this Sunday, 15th November, at 05:07 in the UK.
The New Moon this Sunday is in Scorpio at 23°, trining Neptune, which is in domicile in Pisces and this means that we have a wonderfully watery New Moon coming up for us this weekend. The water sign energy can heighten our intuition and general sensitivity, so this is a great time to meditate to listen more closely to the things your gut has been trying to tell you over the past two months, while Mars has been retrograde.
Yes Mars, our fiery, red planet that is most comfortable blazing onward with vigour has been on his [apparent] backwards path since the 9th September, so it is not unusual at all if you have been feeling somewhat stifled or like you’re trudging through mud lately. Now on this day Friday 13th, while I am writing this article, Mars is finally moving direct-wards again so we can happily invite some greater movement and confidence into our lives from this day, going forward. Things might seem a lot clearer during the New Moon too, for this reason.Continue reading
Mercury is stationing direct in Cancer too tomorrow and is close to the North Node while opposing Pluto, which emphasises potential for change
After the eventfulness and intensity we’ve just experienced with our two eclipses in July in Cancer and Capricorn, I’m sure many of you will welcome the energy of tomorrow’s New Moon in Leo, like me.
At 8° it will conjoin Venus so you can expect a lovely boost of creative, fun and confident energies in the area of life represented by the house this New Moon falls in for you.
You may find yourself starting something fresh or you may find that you begin looking at something else you’ve been doing in a new light, so that your new perspective brings you lots more possibilities and ways to improve.
Mercury is stationing direct in Cancer too tomorrow and is close to the North Node while opposing Pluto, which emphasises potential for change, especially all things Mercury related (the mind, communication, your voice), so make it count. 🙂 Set good intentions, stay positive and blessings to you all.

Tips for making the most out of the coming Full Moon
There’s a Full Moon next Saturday, the 22nd December, exacting at around 5:48pm in the UK.
Again, just like last month, the Full Moon will be at that all-important critical degree (00°), but this time it will be in the cardinal sign, Cancer. As in their cardinal modalities, the four cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, are all about leadership, movement and initiating, just as they each represent the start of a new season (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, respectively). As the critical 00° degree of any sign is also about beginnings, initiation and fresh starts, here is what an Astrologer might call a double whammy in indication of such things, or a double strength in likelihood of them being what this period of time could be about for many of us, most especially for those of us whose personal planets closely aspect the Sun or the Moon on the 22nd December this year. Your forecast for this The Partial Solar Eclipse period and the fortnight ahead.
The New Moon next week, on Thursday, will be a Partial Solar Eclipse, which is the New Moon directly following the Super Blue Blood Moon Total Lunar Eclipse on the 31st January. A Partial Solar Eclipse is a special event of its own accord, Astrologically, but the fact that these two occur one after the other in such a fashion gives this time, in early 2018, Continue reading
Highlights forecast for this New Moon period and the fortnight ahead.
The New Moon that occurs this Wednesday, the 17th January, just like the Full Moon that occurred two weeks ago on the 2nd January, exacts at around 20 minutes past 2 in the early hours of the morning in the UK, so similarly, it will become a New Moon the day before, late on the 16th January in Western Greenland and the USA.
